Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory all star and a staple of South Asian cuisine. Curcumin, a key phytochemical found in turmeric, has been researched for its anti-inflammatory, pain relieving and even gut health benefits. It’s earthy, rich flavour and beautiful golden colour finds it’s way into so many turmeric recipes here on my website, and in my books Eat More Plants and Good For Your Gut.
Enjoy turmeric in a warming apple cider tonic, use it to lend colour to a vegan egg salad or chickpea egg sandwich. I always add turmeric to my curries, like this vegan kabocha squash curry, as well as many of my soups, like this vegan turmeric and ginger cauliflower soup.
