How are you feeling right now?

Better yet…how are you eating?

I have made my way through the feast-overs. I am craving a green smoothie or five. But, I still am feeling pretty good because I ate well this month. I kept the feasting isolated to the few parties and the few days at the in-laws. But I still love me a clean slate, don’t you?

I gave up New Year’s resolutions a few years ago because I found that there is no time like the present to make change. There is too much hype about resolutions, and it creates an overwhelming amount of pressure to make change. We make big, sweeping, unrealistic goals that ignore how we truly want to live our lives. And the proof is in the (full fat, full sugar) pudding: stats show that people tend to fall off with New Year’s resolutions pretty quickly.

That being said, it’s winter. After a long feast period. So, you might feel like rededicating yourself to healthy eating a little bit to put a spring back in your step.

To help you, I am doing something that I have never done before: running a public nutrition challenge on all of my social media platforms. My goal here is to make this as simple, realistic, effective (and free!) as possible. All you need to do is follow me on one of my social media channels below and stay tuned!

Here is how the #Energize2016 Challenge will work:

Sundays, you will receive your challenge for the week, with the first coming January 3rd. If you want the inside scoop, I’ll be on Global BC Weekend every Saturday as well…so be sure to tune in!

Monday through Saturday, I’ll share geeky nutrition facts, tips and easy food swaps to help support the week’s challenge.

Oh…and there WILL be prizes. Stay tuned.

Don’t worry, I won’t ask you to cut out all of your favourite foods. You won’t have to count calories, shun carbs or eat seaweed (if you don’t want to). Just follow four do-able but transformative food changes. You can do each for just a week, or let them build upon each other for a deeper challenge.

Happy New Year! Have a glass of champagne or two…I’ll see you in a couple of days.
